Wadi Manshala
Wadi Manshala offers a beautiful series of waterfalls with abundant
little pools. Travertine deposits along the wadi create draperies and
chimneys in endless shapes. At its upper reaches is a little ravine
crowded with palm trees. Rating: strenuous. Steep with some exposed
ledges. Expect wet shoes.
Walking up along the dry streambed you soon encounter tamarisk, oleander
and sparkling rivulets. Cross a small pool and climb over some boulders.
Another little pool, hiding below a casade, is reached within 40 minutes
from starting point. The pool is located where a volcanic dyke itrudes
the sandstone.
