Your driver will be waiting at Amman (AMM) Airport to take you directly to your hotel in Petra (approximately 2.5 hours). No activities are planned for today.

Nothing can truly prepare you for the first glimpse of Petra. The classic entry to the city takes you through the long twilight of the siq, a narrow canyon that twists for more than a mile through red sandstone, leading to the sunlit façade of the Treasury—a monument cut into rock 2000 years ago.

Petra is a vast archaeological site, much of it still unexcavated. It was built by the Nabataeans, an Arab tribe who dominated the lucrative incense trade and created an empire stretching from the Red Sea to Damascus. You will explore iconic landmarks such as the Temple of the Winged Lions, the High Place of Sacrifice, the Roman theatre, the Garden Tomb, and the Byzantine church.

In the afternoon, you'll head south to Wadi Rum, where you'll drive out to your camp in the heart of the protected area. Time to relax, take in the sunset, and enjoy a Bedouin feast cooked in the "zerb" (an oven of fire-heated sand and stone). Your accommodation is a simple but comfortable Bedouin campsite with traditional goat-hair tents, toilets, and showers.

Wadi Rum, often described by T.E. Lawrence as "vast and silent," is a unique desert landscape. After a picnic lunch and a siesta, you'll visit the great red dune, where you can run down the soft, warm sand.

In the afternoon, you'll head north to your hotel on the shores of the Dead Sea.

Wake up at the Dead Sea, where you will have the chance to float in its warm, intensely saline waters—an unforgettable experience. The Dead Sea is the lowest point on Earth (about 400m below sea level) and is known for its mineral-rich muds, which have curative properties. Enjoy the beauty of the blue water, white salt-encrusted shore, and the red desert mountains.

A short transfer (1 hour) will take you from your hotel back to Amman Airport based on your flight time. We wish you a safe journey home and hope to see you again in Jordan soon.
